Someone saw Revolutions. ;)

I just KNEW you would go with this style. Hundreds and hundreds of clones. Enemies turning into allies. Megaman and Bass in a battle of epic proportions. Cool techno/opera music. #5 is gonna be the coolest movie you've ever done. By far...

...Well, at least the best movie you've done with sprites anyway.

I'd say I can't wait, but the longer I and the rest of us wait, the cooler it'll probably turn out. :D

CheveLoco responds:

hahaha i'll admit it...revolutions was kinda an inspiration but what you saw in this trailer it's all the similarities there is...

and u dont have to wait long...number 4 is out now and 5 will be out in the next couple of days

It's been too long...

Hey, we got 2 long-awaited(at least for me) to enjoyable sprite movie series. It's been nearly 7 months since the last episode of Bass' Revenge, and, as long and arduous as the wait was, it was SO worth it. The dramatic effect and intensity from this flash just oozes from every corner. Megaman's dream. The snide conversation between those 2 old rival doctors. The scene with Rush and Megaman driving along. Duo coming in to save the day. And the 4 remaining Robot Masters helping out(at least I hope) Protoman when the Bass Clones get out of hand.

Ooh, speaking of which, The Bass Clones alone give it that kind of Matrix kind of feel, as they bring back fond memories of Neo clobbering waves of Smiths.

I have almost every mp3 of the songs you used for this flash(kudos to you, for using some nice OCRemixes). I have them, because they're such cool songs, and the way they were arranged for the scenes just add so much to the dramatic effect.

The choreography? It's even better than The Amazing Maverick Swarm from the Final Battle series! And there isn't even any huge battle either. Just the small fights involving the clones offer so much in such a tiny amount of time. It's really a treat for the eyes.

In 7 months, you've atoned your Flash Skills to a highly impressive degree. It's proffesional, it's dramatic, and it's just plain fun to watch. And I'd like to be a part of the action.

I've been looking to work on a Flash project for a long time, and, even if my duty were to just hold a bucket of water, I still wanna be involved in something of yours. You've got a LOT of talent, and it's going in a great direction.

My e-mail is phantom_monkey_8@hotmail.com,My MSN is the same, in case you're interested.

I'm really anticipating your next project, whether or not I'm involved somehow. Magnifico. :)

CheveLoco responds:

Yeah i know it's been a while..a lot of people thought i had given up on this series but as you can see i didnt ;)...it's true i have learn more flash techniques in this months, that's why i my opinion this movie looks better than the last 3..

as you said the OC remixes of the songs are perfect for the movie..although for the next one i wont use so many...

i can see you're a fan of the maverick swarm escene..next episode there will be a battle against the clones so i hope you review it and let me know what you think compared to the mavericks one...my msn is cheveloco@hotmail.com in case you wanna dd me too..thanx for the review

I got good news, and bad news...

First, the bad news. The animation is very poor. Very little detail, 1 frame of animation for each character and far too much tweening. And when the tweening DOES come up, it's far too slow. There's not enough detail the settings, and the characters themselves.

The sound quality is absolute shit. I'm sorry, the voices are well done, but it's kind of hard to hear them when they're done through a crappy mic, all the while music of even worse quality is playing throughout. Particularily, the Burly Brawl music from The Matrix Reloaded.

I have an mp3 of that music. I'll gladly offer it if it will help make this flash just the tiniest bit better.

Now for the good news: This is really, really funny. The writing is ingenious, and the presentation goes off well. The premise is interesting, and the entire movie is a treat to watch...

You have talent. It shows. It's just really hard to see through the ugly visuals and the grainy sound.

Earth-Mage-2000 responds:

Well, thank you for the very good review. Yeah, backround needs work eh? With the Burly Brawl music, I also have the MP3 but when I put it in the movie the animation was very, very messed up. It was all laggy and stuff so that was out of the question, I instead changed the quality so it would run smoother.

Good job man

You can see the amount of effort put into this in every frame. It's quite commendable of you to add all those extras as well. I'm always interested in things like commentary and stuff, and some very nicely detailed battles from classic Megaman games. The hand drawn art is nice too.

I appreciate the effort put into this flash, and for that, you get a fiver from me.

Frankenroc responds:

Thank you, sir, thank you.

Oh God, not another one...

Randy Solemn would never do something as stupid as tell people to copy his movie over and over again. SO unoriginal. At least in his movies you could decide who wins.

Cream-E responds:

You dont even know the guy, you spelt his name wrong! Your review means NOTHING to me, you didn't even create 1 movie (of what I can see through your profile) so how could you be judging?

I think A10000 is on to something.

Now that I think of it, I think back to the very first Megaman Final Battle episode and realize that maybe Megaman DOES need some humour. I mean, don't get me wrong, this flash is another one of your finest, but the writing could be so much more. I think I was a bit too hard on you when I first reviewed your movies 'cause I think you know how to add humour to a deep story but not go overboard with it.

I guess it just adds a bit more depth to the characters. I mean, it's like the Bob & George comic strips. In that, Megaman is the dumb guy who's more than willing to point out the flaws of the game design or the stupidity in Wily's creations. Proto Man is the cool type. Dr. Light is the drunk, you know?

I'm not saying you should turn this into a comedy, but I think you should emphasis more on how Protoman is the cooler, suave type, to Megaman's cluelessness from the first flash he appeared in.

But I'm not gonna tell you how to do your job. I still think as it is now, the sprite animations are top-notch, the music is fitting and cool. And most of all, some enjoyment was had watching this.

Good job man.

(PS: I liked the way you made Eddie fly. :)

CheveLoco responds:

yeah i've been thinking of including some comedy in future episodes...maybe i will

Ignore the lesser minded, such as Skull Basher....

...It's peons like him that have kept Newgrounds as a haven for the mindless drooling ignorami for lo these many years.

I on the other hand, have a brain, and use it. Which is why I'm ecstatic to see someone present a THOUGHT to The Portal for once. The graphics were animated with detail, and effor, and it clearly shows in the movements of Da Diniticinusuin.... Di danaictiun...

...

However the hell you pronounce your name...

Anyways, I love a good philosophical debate. But if you ask me, your views on friendship and love are WAAAY too biased to present a logical argument.

Just because friends may have stabbed YOU in the back, doesn't mean that EVERYONE stabs EVERYONE ELSE in THEIR backs. That's absurd. And you denounce Love to be the reason for existence, because Life is one crushing hellish ordeal after another.

Everyone knows life sucks. Don't blame love for it. Love is one of the only reasons life is even worth living. Sure, Hope, Friendship, Religion and other points keep others going, but you can't just shun love because life is less than satisfactory. True Love is the closest feeling you can get in mortal life, of being in Heaven, or Nirvana, or whatever. At least that's what I believe.

I believe the Meaning Of Life is to make your OWN meaning to live. And Love is enough reason for me. :D

-Phantos

Da-Dinictus responds:

Nononononononononono! NO!
For the umpteenth time, I -myself- did not denounce the very good things in life that make us much more happier as anything bad! Hell no! I have friends, I believe in Hope - so why then still attack those supportive matters? Because that is the view of -others-! I share, with you all, the views of others, so you can perhaps contemplate on them if you did not already, and share your ideas. Most absolutely not do I denounce friendship and love, nor religion. But there's enough people who do, and you should consider their views too, even if you are against them.
It's good to see people who also see friendship like this, but damn, are you a vigorous defender! ...I like that ^_^ Caring sort, aren't you?
A good review, indeed, and thank you for enjoying "R".

Alright! A spin-off!

If I had known this was made by Newground's newest Sprite Movie Legend, OR that this is a spin-off of Megaman X The Final Battle, I would have seen this much sooner!

*hits self in head*

Well, now that I've seen this movie, I can confirm that your really, REALLY complexly animated flashes have spoiled me. It may not look like I'm giving this a high score, but remember that I'm not the kind of person who only votes 10 or 0. I make use of the rating system.

Anywho, the sprite graphics seemed a tad more pixely this time, but once again you've assembled a very well designed fight sequence with 2 classic robot masters. Although they're the older, less interesting kind, you still made use with the materials you have.

3 small gripes tho.

1. The words go by a bit too fast.

2. The sound effect for Rush barking seems a bit too loud for a dog of his size.

and 3. I think it doesn't matter how big a movie it is, but if you don't put in as much effort into a movie just to make it a smaller size, it loses a lot of what makes it so great in the first place. An epic scope.

Eh, it barely detracts from an enjoyable little piece in the puzzle of this interesting spin-off.

-Phantos

CheveLoco responds:

heheh sprite movie legend?..i'm flattered.. thank you very much even though i don't think i have achieved that title yet...:P
1- i'll check the text pace next time.
2-that's the only i could find at that moment..hehe
3-is not that i dont put a lot of effort i just try to make it as good as good as possible with a low file size(by now i think that doesnt matter to a lot of people so i might have to change that "policy" hehe
