I got good news, and bad news...

First, the bad news. The animation is very poor. Very little detail, 1 frame of animation for each character and far too much tweening. And when the tweening DOES come up, it's far too slow. There's not enough detail the settings, and the characters themselves.

The sound quality is absolute shit. I'm sorry, the voices are well done, but it's kind of hard to hear them when they're done through a crappy mic, all the while music of even worse quality is playing throughout. Particularily, the Burly Brawl music from The Matrix Reloaded.

I have an mp3 of that music. I'll gladly offer it if it will help make this flash just the tiniest bit better.

Now for the good news: This is really, really funny. The writing is ingenious, and the presentation goes off well. The premise is interesting, and the entire movie is a treat to watch...

You have talent. It shows. It's just really hard to see through the ugly visuals and the grainy sound.

Earth-Mage-2000 responds:

Well, thank you for the very good review. Yeah, backround needs work eh? With the Burly Brawl music, I also have the MP3 but when I put it in the movie the animation was very, very messed up. It was all laggy and stuff so that was out of the question, I instead changed the quality so it would run smoother.

Hoorah!

It feels like forever since NG had another good sprite movie. This one had clever laughs, an impressive fight scene, nice music, and Foamy. And in the end, isn't that all that matters?

...

No, not really, but that was still well done. Even though you clearly worked your ass off for this.... I still wish it could have been a scene or two longer. Oh well.

Good job dood. :)

Good show.

Although I think what AgentKirby87 meant was how come every sprite was from Megaman The Wily Wars, EXCEPT for the Dr. Wily sprites, which are clearly from the NES versions.

There are Genesis sprites of Dr. Wily in his little ship just like the one in this movie(wink-wink).

Regardless, I enjoyed the voice-acting, and using Wily Wars graphics was a really good idea. This looks so much more detailed than most Megaman flash movies here.

And the music selection is superb as well.

Well done.

Worst Combination Since Regis And Kathy Lee

Really, you take 5 authors who make overrated crap including Marcus Peblo and Kermit Kombat, and then fuse their powers together to make 1 GIANT overrated piece of tripe, and expect it to be GOOD? Isn't this entire concept just ripping off the Fantasia idea. If Fantasia sucked the gay right out of Good Charlotte that is.

Although the animation was interesting, and at point exceptional, the execution is not pulled off quite well. They chose the most boring, uninteresting, bland and downright stupifying track to make a flash animation to.

However, I do see SOME potential, but it's drowning in a sea of insanity, and not the funny or even interesting kind. The concepts for each of the 5 small portions of this movie are lacking in any depth whatsoever. Or any feasible reason to watch them for that matter.

And although in terms of animation, perhaps 2 out of the 5 animation sequences were done well(though the rest were terribly drawn), there's nothing really ENJOYABLE about this flash... unless you enjoy watching pictures of skeleton birds and women giving birth into buckets...

Sick freak...

Not much to look at here folks...

This might be the most boring tribute I've ever seen. Every character only has 1 facial expression, 1 pose, and they all move about as fast an action scene from The Matrix, which, ironically, is rather slow.

The whole flash lasted longer than the song, and nothing was even synchronized. Random sound bits were used to make strange TV commericals for that one segment, which was actually pointless because that's not in the actual intro, and just bogged and already bogged down movie.

All in all, you need to get the animators, writers, hell the entire staff of The Simpsons to make a good Simpsons episode. You're just one man. How could you expect anything higher than a 3?

Good job man

You can see the amount of effort put into this in every frame. It's quite commendable of you to add all those extras as well. I'm always interested in things like commentary and stuff, and some very nicely detailed battles from classic Megaman games. The hand drawn art is nice too.

I appreciate the effort put into this flash, and for that, you get a fiver from me.

Thank you, sir, thank you.

Holy SHIT....

I'm in awe at the amount of work put into this flash. I recently got Flash MX, and it took me half an hour just to get a good animation of Megaman running. I don't think my mind would be able to handle what it would take to make THAT!!

The choreography is even more astounding than the last version what with the added uber-kewl bike chase scene(once again, referring back to your f***ing incredible sprite movie prowess), this is the work of genius. Geniuses with a LOT of time and patience on their hands.

If I ever make a flash movie half as exciting and well-designed as this one, I'll know I've done a good job.

You really learned a lot at that film school!

I haven't seen a more professionally handled storyline at Newgrounds since Broken Saints stopped submitting movies here. The things you've done with the graphics, and the writing, and the music selection, and the whole concept is beyond belief.

The way the characters speak, and the pacing, and the very original twist you put in about Luigi at the end(which I'm surprised is a road less taken in movies), it all feels like we're watching an actual movie and not some Flash movie about Mario beating up Sonic.

Randy Solem of RotMK has set the standards for graphics in a sprite flash, but you've REALLY raised the bar for how stories are told through flash.

A LOT of effort was put into this... Although I still wonder why, from the last movie, you chose the sprite you did for the Princess, instead of the cleaner looking Super Mario Bros. 2 Princess sprite...

And speaking of the Princess... Why, when there's a giant horde of monsters about to attack, the first thing the toads think to themselves is:

"We must protect the princess!"

Why would they risk their lives without even CONSIDERING their own? That must mean she's done SOMETHING so kind and generous and sweet that they would ALL be willing to die just to defend her from giant fire-breathing turtles(and not Gamera either.)

I think you should emphasize on WHY the Princess is considered the beloved character she is to everyone in this movie. And that is the only inquiery I have about ANY episode in this series.

Everything else was done flawlessly. I don't care that there wasn't a lot of violence. You took VERY dated graphics, and a barebones story, worked your damnded hardest at them, and molded them into an utterly astounding flash. This is truly something special in terms of pacing and plot. Something over a hundred flash designers haven't been able to do yet.

Spectacular.

Bloody, frigging spectacular.

I can't wait for the next (last?) episode. I really can't, so now I gotta make sure I don't go crazy with impatience waiting for it by everting my attention to candy and scary costumes...

All hail the Queen!... of uh, Megaman flash movies

In all honesty, I HATED not only the band Queen, but that song as well. Did you know in international polls, Bohemian Rhapsody is considered the greatest song ever made? I would shudder at that notion every time it came to my thoughts.

However, I've learned an appreciation for it now that I've seen this. The sprites synchronized each note in the song perfectly, and I think they worked really well for the song selection, even though there is a humour in seeing these characters sing Bohemian Rhapsody.

Just the little touches too, like Dr. Light doing that devil thing with his hand while banging his head, Bass playing guitar solos, Proto on keyboard, and just the thought of various Megaman characters singing this, of all songs, is an entertaining thought in the least.

I think this is sure to become a favourite of Newgrounds, considering this is one of the only sprite movies that come to mind that has a score higher than 4.00. That's something only people like Randy Solem and Phantasmagoria Crow have been capable of in the past.

Plus you did nice work on the custom sprite movements, like the head-bangin' scene.

All in all, this may very well be the most respected Megaman-related movie at this site.... BESIDES Rockman Neo of course...

Bravo!

One small step for chauvenists....

Wasn't funny.... In ANY WAY WHATSOEVER. Not even a chuckle. Just watching that movie made me feel like an idiot. People like Archaos should be put to death for saying things like that. Look what you made him say thanks to this flash. Thank you SO MUCH, for creating another retard for Newgrounds.

I know this flash wasn't MEANT to be chauvenistic, but it is. Just like espestos wasn't MEANT to give people cancer, but it does just that.

You should have kept this thought to yourself, because even though you didn't intend to, you've created a negative stereotype for the few women who go here anyway.

Are you people TRYING to drive away the Female gender from this site??? Absolutely shameful. Even for a Newgrounds movie.

PS: Tom, please, please, PLEASE, STOP PUTTING SHIT ON THE FRONTPAGE!!
